Job Description:**Subject: Financial Accountant Position – Dubai**

James Fisher is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Dubai (Maritime City/Airport Zone) on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records in accordance with IFRS, Group policies, and statutory requirements. **Key Responsibilities:**

* Preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and company policies.
* Maintenance of the general ledger, processing of journal entries, and performance of reconciliations.
* Submission of Group management accounts and support for internal reporting schedules.
* Performance of accurate Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reconciliations.
* Preparation and submission of VAT, WHT, and corporate tax filings in compliance with relevant regulations.
* Support for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, including providing commentary on key drivers.
* Posting and review of ad-hoc and recurring journal entries.
* Assistance with interim and year-end audits.
* Recommendation and implementation of process and control improvements.
* Support for internal management reporting and monitoring of internal controls.
* Management of fixed asset processes, including acquisitions, tracking, and disposals.
* Collaboration on ERP system configuration, testing, and documentation.
* Maintenance of the Risk & Issues register and escalation of concerns as necessary.
* Prompt resolution of reconciliation issues with appropriate supporting documentation.

**Qualifications and Experience:**

* Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and local tax regulations (VAT, WHT, corporate tax).
* Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and compliance procedures.
* Experience in multi-entity or Group reporting environments is essential.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA) is preferred. Part-qualified candidates will also be considered.
* Proven experience in financial reporting and compliance within dynamic business settings.
* Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction across teams and organizational levels.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt effectively under pressure.
* Proactive problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
