Job Description:The incumbent is responsible for conducting comprehensive Planned Maintenance (PM) inspections (TA1 and TA2) on mobile equipment, including haul trucks, face shovels, dozers, graders, and wheel loaders, to facilitate the proactive identification of potential equipment failures. Furthermore, the incumbent will perform swing deflection measurements and Custom Track Service (CTS) assessments on tracked machinery to evaluate undercarriage condition and component degradation. Tray thickness inspections utilizing ultrasonic testing (UT) methodologies will be executed to monitor structural integrity and wear progression on truck bodies and buckets. The operation of electronic diagnostic tools (e.g., CAT ET, VIMS) is required to retrieve equipment performance data and fault codes for prompt troubleshooting and reporting purposes. Accurate documentation of all inspection findings and defect conditions within the CMMS system (preferably SAP) is mandatory to ensure timely notification generation and support for planning activities. Effective communication with the Technical Advisor, Workshop Supervisor, and Reliability Engineer is essential for validating inspection results and establishing appropriate maintenance priorities. The incumbent will support field-based execution of minor repairs, adjustments, and component checks, contingent upon safety and feasibility during inspections or running checks. Continuous monitoring of machines during operation at the Running Check phase will be conducted to identify anomalous sounds, vibrations, leaks, or behaviors indicative of impending failure. Strict adherence to safety protocols, including daily Take 5 risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) completion, and the utilization of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and equipment lockout procedures is paramount. Coordination with service technicians and execution teams is necessary to ensure comprehension of findings, timely parts requisition, and real-time work order updates. Technical support will be provided during commissioning of new equipment or post-maintenance verification as required. Maintenance of proper calibration and care of inspection tools, including UT gauges, MultiTool+, IR cameras, and handheld diagnostic devices is expected. Participation in reliability investigations, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and performance reviews will be undertaken as directed by the reliability team. Prior experience working on 6040, 6030, and 395 Excavators is highly desirable.
