Job Description:**Job Description: Factory Manager**

The Factory Manager is accountable for the comprehensive oversight of all daily operations within the food canning facility. Responsibilities encompass the direction of production activities and personnel management, ensuring efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes that consistently meet the highest standards of product quality and food safety regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven leadership capabilities and a documented history of achievement in manufacturing management, preferably within the food industry.

**Core Responsibilities:**

* **Production Management:** Direct and coordinate production schedules to align with sales forecasts and optimize resource allocation. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, waste reduction, and throughput, implementing corrective measures as required. Streamline production workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall product quality. Oversee the timely fulfillment of finished goods orders according to established production schedules.

* **Quality Assurance and Food Safety:** Enforce strict adherence to all applicable food safety standards and regulations. Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance department to investigate and resolve quality deviations and address customer feedback. Ensure full compliance with relevant industry standards, certifications, and audit requirements.

* **Operational Oversight:** Manage and coordinate all factory operations, encompassing processing, canning, and packaging activities. Identify and implement strategies for continuous improvement in operational efficiency and cost reduction. Verify that all equipment is maintained in safe and effective operating condition.

* **Inventory and Logistics Coordination:** Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure the timely receipt of raw materials and the efficient dispatch of finished goods.

* **Team Leadership and Development:** Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for a team of production supervisors, technicians, and factory staff. Cultivate a positive and productive work environment that fosters teamwork, prioritizes safety, and promotes continuous learning. Conduct performance evaluations, identify training requirements, and provide coaching to enhance team capabilities. Manage staffing levels, recruitment processes, and disciplinary actions in accordance with established Human Resources policies.

* **Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance (HSE):** Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing all company and regulatory health and safety policies. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all factory personnel. Oversee waste disposal practices and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.

* **Budgeting and Cost Control:** Develop and manage the factory operating budget, controlling expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings. Monitor and report on production costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses.

* **Reporting and Communication:** Prepare regular reports detailing production performance, quality metrics, safety incidents, and operational challenges. Communicate effectively with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.

Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Food), or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within the food canning or a closely related food processing industry.
  • Proven expertise in food safety management systems.
  • Strong understanding of canning processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma), and production optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of local and international food regulations.
  • Fluency in English Language.
