Job Description:**Subject: Mechanical Engineer Position – JECO Project, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia**

Surbana Jurong (SJ), a prominent global consultancy specializing in urban, infrastructure, and managed services, seeks a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join the JECO Project team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant projects within the built environment, aligning with SJ’s commitment to constructing cities and improving lives.

The successful candidate will provide project management and technical oversight for all mechanical works within the PMC scope, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols. As the client’s representative, the Mechanical Engineer will monitor, review, and manage the performance of contractors and consultants on-site.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Thoroughly review mechanical design documents, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements.
* Supervise contractors’ installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
* Collaborate with design, civil, architectural, and MEP teams to resolve technical and interface issues.
* Ensure that all works comply with project specifications, relevant industry standards, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
* Review progress reports, inspection results, and quality documentation.
* Participate in technical meetings, design coordination sessions, and handover activities.

**Qualifications and Experience:**

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
* A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience, including substantial involvement in large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
* Demonstrated experience working in a PMC capacity.
* Prior experience in Saudi Arabia or the broader Middle East region is preferred.

**Knowledge and Skills:**

* Comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
* Familiarity with international standards and codes, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and SMACNA.
* Proficiency in engineering software, including AutoCAD and MS Office.
* Exceptional communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
