**Material Engineer Position**

AECOM seeks a qualified Material Engineer to ensure that all materials used in projects comply with project specifications and relevant regulatory approvals.

**Responsibilities**

The Material Engineer will undertake the following responsibilities, as delegated by the Resident Engineer:

* Review and approve contractor-proposed materials and methods.
* Maintain a daily diary documenting material-related activities.
* Provide general oversight of the contractor’s daily operations, including work assignments, on-site performance, and supervisory guidance.
* Attend factory visits and supplier plant inspections as required.
* Follow up on testing and approvals from relevant authorities.
* Review contractor testing requests and completed reports.
* Review and approve contractor submissions.
* Monitor material delivery performance and accuracy of materials used on-site.
* Coordinate with contractor supervisory personnel regarding schedules, sequences, and work methods.
* Monitor conformance with the contractor’s schedule.
* Conduct continuous field inspections of work in progress and consult with the Resident Engineer’s and Contractor’s supervisory staff.
* Prepare written and oral reports to the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.

**Qualifications**

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

* A relevant Bachelor of Science degree from a recognized university.
* Dubai Central Laboratory approval.
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design, construction, and supervision of water pipelines, sewerage systems, rising mains, and pumping stations.
* Comprehensive knowledge of existing infrastructure networks in the Emirates of Dubai.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in conducting quality inspections, with hands-on experience in ISO9000 quality systems.
