Job Description:A prominent medical group in Saudi Arabia seeks to recruit a Consultant in Emergency Medicine for a position in Al Madinah. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

**Principal Responsibilities:**

* Assist in the oversight of the daily operational activities within their assigned Emergency Department shift area, encompassing the Critical Care area (CC), Acute Care area (AC), Urgent Care Center (UCC), and Emergency Department Observation Unit (EDOU).
* Contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives.
* Participate in the design, implementation, review, and biennial updates of Emergency Department policies and procedures.
* Maintain current knowledge of hospital and departmental policies, procedures, standards, and regulations through initial orientation and periodic updates following annual leave. Disseminate updated information to Emergency Department colleagues.
* Adhere to hospital and departmental regulations regarding essential medical Emergency Department chart documentation, the use of personal identification stamps, and the application of hospital electronic medical records systems as designated in the current phase.
* Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), as well as meeting the Continuing Medical Education and Training (CME&T) credit requirements mandated by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS).
* Participate in the implementation of the Emergency Department Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), including the development, monitoring, and evaluation of criteria, standards, and indicators to enhance the quality and appropriateness of departmental practice, in accordance with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
* Provide recommendations regarding the acquisition of necessary capital equipment for the department.
* Participate in and attend assigned hospital committees.
* Monitor, interpret, and report on utilization and productivity statistics, such as those related to consultations within the Emergency Department.
* Assist in delegating duties and responsibilities to departmental staff, commensurate with their education, experience, and job descriptions.
* Liaise and coordinate on operational matters with Nursing Division Leadership (Director of Clinical Nursing, Nursing Supervisor, and Nurse Manager). Maintain liaison and oversight coordination with the Patient Relations Supervisor and Officers concerning patient complaints, sick leave requests, and the issuance and follow-up of medical reports.
* Assist and lead in the training and education of junior staff to maintain optimal skill levels.
* Assist in conducting annual performance appraisals of Emergency Department staff, as requested by the Emergency Department Chairman.
* Acquire comprehensive understanding of role expectations during Disaster Response (Code Black). Participate in and lead the implementation of medical contingency disaster plans for the Emergency Department, including oversight of medical operations, emergency response, and medical evacuation during clinical shifts.
* Assist junior Emergency Department staff in the care of patients requiring specialized skills due to the nature or severity of their presenting complaint.
* Participate actively in the Residency Training Program, including involvement in training and evaluation activities within the department.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Executive Director of Medical Services, Central Region, that are consistent with the post-holder’s qualifications and capabilities.
