Job Description:
Report to: Division Principal (DP) and School Principal (SP)
Purpose: The Vice Principal (VP) is part of the Administrative Team whose function is to maintain the overall School’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
Responsibilities
Assist the Principal in leading and managing the Division/School. Undertake duties which are delegated by the DP/SP.
· Play a major role, under the overall direction of the Division Principal (DP) /School Principal (SP), in collaboration with all members of the Leadership Team, to formulate and review the School’s Strategic Plan and its aims and objectives by, establishing the policies through which they shall be achieved. Leading and managing staff and resources to that end. Monitoring progress towards their achievement. Contributing to quality assurance and self-evaluation.
· Lead the development, organization, and implementation of the School’s curriculum.
· Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across the Division/School.
· Ensure that new teachers are supported and undertake an effective induction process.
· Ensure that support is provided for individual teachers, when needed, to ensure their lessons consistently meet the standards.
· Demonstrate and articulate consistently high expectations of classroom management to provide challenge and improvement.
· Deliver whole School training and lead teaching and learning initiatives.
· Monitor the quality of the curriculum. Implement and sustain effective monitoring and observation systems.
· Provide information, objective advice, and support to the teachers to meet their responsibilities. · Secure sustained improvement in students’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development to prepare them for opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences in adult life.
· Be responsible for the line management and performance management of specific subject leaders as directed by the DP/SP.
· Participate in the recruitment and development of the School’s teaching staff.
· Contribute to good management practice by ensuring positive staff participation, effective communication, and procedures.
· Provide professional advice, support, and training needs as appropriate.
· Communicate and follow up regularly with parents’ concerns.
