**Position Summary:**
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for responding to and resolving guest repair requests in a timely and efficient manner. This individual will also perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines. The Maintenance Technician must be able to carry equipment, identify and operate shut-off valves, and maintain maintenance inventory, requisitioning parts and supplies as needed. Effective communication of daily activities and problems to other shifts is essential.
The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of or the ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical systems, mechanical systems, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Responsibilities include surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas. The Maintenance Technician will also test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various types of equipment, plumbing fixtures, and electrical components, and program televisions and perform inventory duties. Adherence to the Lockout/Tagout system is mandatory before commencing any maintenance work.
Additional responsibilities include performing repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems. Basic computer skills are required for tasks such as inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperature settings. The Maintenance Technician must adhere to all company and safety/security policies and procedures, report any maintenance problems or safety hazards, complete safety training and certifications, and properly store flammable materials.
Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, upholding the confidentiality of proprietary information, and protecting company assets are essential. The Maintenance Technician is expected to welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.
Furthermore, the Maintenance Technician will develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and communicate effectively with colleagues. The role requires the ability to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier objects with assistance. The candidate must be able to navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders, and perform tasks requiring reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Computer literacy is required for accessing and entering work-related information. Other reasonable job duties may be assigned as requested.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* **Education:** High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
* **Related Work Experience:** Prior experience in general maintenance, and exterior and interior surface preparation and painting is preferred. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous.
**Required Qualifications:**
* Valid Driver’s License.
