POSITION OVERVIEW
Under general direction of an Engineering Team Lead, the Electrical Project Engineer develops and executes projects of electrical design and customizes electrical designs to meet order-specific customer requirements following industry’s safety and quality standards. Represents the company in communication and coordination with customers and suppliers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently completes all project activity as delegated by the Engineering Manager. Projects can be either design to commission project-based where design process needs to comply with building regulation and standards OR procurement to commission projects to comply with the project specifications. Contributes ideas for further improvements
- Completes work on each project respecting adherence to electrical systems standards. All work must be completed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. Manages multiple projects at various stages of Engineering process including:
- Customer Coordination and Communication and producing BOQ
- Project Drawing and Load Analysis
- Approval Drawings Review and Submittals to Client
- Procurement of the design components
- Installation of the electrical systems while overseeing the technicians
- Developing method of statement for Testing and commissioning
- Testing and Commissioning of the installed systems according to regulations
- Submit project impact reports
- Calculates project cost changes and scope changes and communicating those cost changes to Sales or Project Management to negotiate with customer
- Maintains and updates Project Database for respective projects
- Provides guidance and technical support to Project Manager, Engineers and Technicians.
- Ability to independently completes complex electrical projects through utilisation of previous knowledge installation and testing procedures for electrical systems in construction sector, often working on site.
- Design, Procure, Pre-commission, Install, Programme, Test, and Commissiong Electrical Systems in the construction industry; mainly LC and MV systems.

Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (M.Sc. proffered)
- 8-12 years related electrical engineering experience with a strong emphasis in the designing, installation, testing and commissioning of the electrical systems in the Construction industry
- Strongly Proficient with various electrical design calculation and analysis software
- CAD modelling software knowledge required
- 4-5 years of applicable experience in material handling equipment product and system design preferred
- Strongly Proficient with information such as bills of material, drawings, design data and design standards
- Strong communication, technical, and computer skills
- Strong leadership and monitoring a team of technicians
Other Skills
- Ability to work independently when solving problems, but using good judgment in seeking guidance where appropriate.
- Ability to communicate with other internal departments: Drafting, Engineering and Project Management
- Ability to effectively oversee a group of electrical technicians to oversee every step of electrical systems installation.
- Ability to ensure that wiring, cables, termination, and function on control panels and MCCs are consistent and relevant to drawings or parts lists.
- Ability to investigate and resolve system faults independently and to a component level.
