Job Description:**Position Description: Kitchen Steward**

**Job Summary:**

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and related areas, ensuring adherence to established hygiene standards and operational efficiency. Primary responsibilities include operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, such as dishwashers and trash compactors; washing and disinfecting kitchen surfaces, tools, and equipment; receiving and storing deliveries, adhering to proper stock rotation procedures; and ensuring the appropriate storage of clean wares. The incumbent will utilize detergents, rinsing agents, and sanitizing chemicals in accordance with established protocols. This role involves inspecting, sorting, and stacking cleaned items, as well as processing soiled items for re-washing. Additional duties include managing waste disposal, cleaning designated areas, and following all company safety and security policies and procedures. The Kitchen Steward will also be expected to communicate effectively, maintain positive working relationships, and support team objectives. The position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as prolonged periods of standing, sitting, or walking. Other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
