Job Description:**Director of Strategy – Esports World Cup Foundation**

**Position Summary:**

The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) seeks a highly qualified and experienced Director of Strategy to provide leadership and direction in the development and execution of the Foundation’s strategic agenda. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and managing a team of four direct reports, the Director will be responsible for formulating and implementing strategic initiatives to drive growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability for the EWCF and its flagship events. This role requires a strategic and forward-thinking individual with the ability to anticipate industry trends, identify opportunities, and align stakeholders around a clear strategic roadmap. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure the EWCF maintains a leading position within the global esports and entertainment landscape. This position is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Develop and articulate a comprehensive strategic vision for the EWCF, aligning with its mission, vision, and values.
* Lead the organization’s multi-year strategic planning process, establishing long-term objectives, priorities, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Translate the strategic vision into actionable roadmaps and oversee execution across all divisions.
* Conduct thorough market analysis of the global esports, gaming, and entertainment sectors, identifying emerging opportunities and potential risks.
* Provide regular insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Trustees.
* Spearhead high-impact initiatives to expand the EWCF’s market presence and global reach.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances.
* Assess the feasibility of new verticals, markets, or products to diversify the EWCF’s portfolio.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership and division heads, to ensure alignment with the overall corporate strategy.
* Cultivate and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including publishers, teams, sponsors, and government entities, to advance the EWCF’s objectives.
* Prepare and present strategic updates, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Trustees.
* Identify potential risks associated with strategic initiatives and propose effective mitigation strategies.
* Ensure all initiatives are executed in compliance with governance frameworks and organizational priorities.
* Develop and maintain a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy that supports the broader esports and gaming ecosystem and enhances the EWCF’s global reputation.
* Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing strategy team, establishing performance metrics and conducting regular reviews to facilitate professional development.

**Qualifications:**

* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Strategy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
* Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or equivalent strategic roles.
* Minimum of four (4) years of leadership experience within complex organizations.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

* Demonstrated success in designing and executing corporate strategies within rapidly evolving industries.
* Comprehensive understanding of strategic planning methodologies and best practices.
* Exceptional market analysis and business development acumen.
* Proven ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
* Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
* Prior consulting experience with projects involving sports, entertainment, digital products, or large-scale events is highly desirable.
* Proven background in top-tier management consulting (e.g., strategy, transformation, or organizational design) is preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
