The DCS Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, efficient operation, and optimization of the Distributed Control System (DCS) within Savola Foods Company’s sugar refinery. This role necessitates a thorough understanding of refinery processes, encompassing raw sugar handling, melting, carbonatation, filtration, evaporation, crystallization, and drying. The incumbent will ensure meticulous maintenance of all process parameters, employing analytical troubleshooting to address operational challenges expeditiously and effectively. This position requires proactive engagement with data analysis to enhance efficiency and support the continuous improvement of production processes.

**Job Responsibilities:**

* Supervise and control the entirety of the refinery process via the DCS, ensuring the efficient management of raw sugar handling, melting, carbonatation, filtration, evaporation, crystallization, centrifugation, and drying units.
* Monitor and analyze process parameters, alarms, and trends to maintain stable and efficient operations within established limits.
* Adjust setpoints, control loops, and automation sequences as required to optimize performance, minimize process variations, and uphold product quality standards.
* Identify anomalous operational conditions, diagnose issues utilizing root cause analysis methodologies, and coordinate timely corrective actions with relevant shift teams.
* Lead investigations into process disturbances, alarms, and system failures, collaborating closely with maintenance and instrumentation teams to resolve hardware or software deficiencies.
* Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement control strategies that improve process stability while demonstrably reducing energy and chemical consumption.
* Conduct risk assessments pertaining to process control activities, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and operational guidelines, and facilitating safe startup and shutdown procedures.
* Provide training to DCS operators on industry best practices, emergency response protocols, and effective process control techniques.
* Maintain meticulous documentation of process deviations, system adjustments, and corrective actions, and contribute insights through the preparation of comprehensive shift reports and operational logs.
* Participate in the ongoing revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process manuals, and automation documentation to reflect evolving operational requirements.

**Qualifications:**

* Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Distributed Control Systems (DCS), process automation, and control loops.
* In-depth understanding of sugar manufacturing processes and related operations, including familiarity with DCS software and hardware.
