Job Description:**Credit & Collections Team Leader – Bridgestone (Dubai, UAE)**
**Job Summary:**
Bridgestone is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Credit & Collections Team Leader to join its Credit team in Dubai, UAE. This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position reporting hierarchically to the Local Finance Director and functionally to the Head of Credit EMEA. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the financial objectives of Bridgestone MEA and its sales initiatives while maintaining healthy account receivables within the organization’s risk parameters. The Credit & Collections Team Leader will collaborate closely with team members and management to ensure adherence to credit management regulations and policies. This role requires the ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with supply chain, sales, and finance teams to identify opportunities for process improvement related to account management, aligned with the company’s cash flow requirements and risk appetite.
**Responsibilities:**
* Manage the credit approval and collections processes, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
* Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of credit and collections staff, ensuring ethical and effective execution of duties in compliance with organizational standards, relevant regulations, and laws.
* Monitor and report on customer credit risk, recommend credit exposure limits, and facilitate special credit arrangements and resolution of problem collection accounts.
* Negotiate collateral and security arrangements as required.
* Support collection procedures and address collection escalations through client visits.
* Identify target accounts to improve payment habits and increase sales through security transactions.
* Manage and prepare dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Supervise the approval of credit applications, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed.
* Secure all necessary procedures required to execute successfully Letters of Credit (LCs) and Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs).
* Prepare monthly accounts and customer aging reports for the finance department.
* Respond to customer inquiries and resolve outstanding credit issues.
* Assist in developing new credit policies and procedures.
* Maintain credit invoice and supporting documentation files.
* Review accounts receivable ledger and initiate steps to resolve aged invoices/accounts and customer disputes.
* Perform analytical review and reporting within accounts receivable.
* Liaise with functional or operational area managers (e.g., sales or customer service) to ensure alignment of credit and collection activities with the organization’s overall customer relations strategy.
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
* Minimum of 5 years of prior supervisory or management experience.
* Minimum of 7 years of progressive credit experience in a sales or similar environment.
* Experience in trade finance and extensive knowledge of financial instruments (LC, SBLC, BG). CISAP experience preferable.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
* Advanced financial statement analysis skills.
* Proficiency in PC skills, accounting software, Internet-based programs, and the MS Office Suite. Experience with credit rating tools is desirable.
* Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Dependable and accountable with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization, customers, and vendors.
* Ability to maintain accuracy in a highly detailed work environment.
