Aajil, formerly Buildnow, is seeking qualified candidates for the positions of Senior Credit Analyst (7+ years of experience) and Junior Credit Analyst (3+ years of experience) to contribute to our mission of revolutionizing access to financing for construction SMEs through our Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solutions. **Responsibilities:**

As a Credit Analyst at Aajil, responsibilities will encompass:

* Analyzing financial statements and assessing the creditworthiness of construction SMEs utilizing advanced systems and fundamental analysis.
* Preparing comprehensive risk reports providing actionable insights to inform critical credit approval and rejection decisions.
* Collaborating with risk management teams to ensure adherence to portfolio diversification and risk mitigation strategies.
* Designing and refining credit policies and processes to facilitate scalable lending operations.
* Monitoring repayment trends and proactively identifying high-risk accounts using data analytics tools.
* Working in conjunction with engineering teams to enhance risk assessment processes and systems.

**Qualifications:**

**Senior Credit Analyst (7+ years):**

* Proven experience in credit risk or lending within financial institutions, with specific expertise in SME portfolios.
* Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial documents for credit decision-making.
* Experience in shaping credit policies and models, and mentoring junior analysts.

**Junior Credit Analyst (3+ years):**

* Practical experience in credit analysis or related finance roles within banks, Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs), or credit bureaus.
* Sound understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in reviewing SME financial statements.
* A strong desire to learn advanced credit risk concepts and contribute to continuous process improvement.

**Required for Both Roles:**

* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros); familiarity with SQL for data querying is preferred.
* Comprehensive understanding of credit risk principles and SME financial analysis.
* Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with strong analytical and reporting skills to support high-stakes decisions.
* Fluency in both English and Arabic, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
