About The RoleThe Courier is responsible to sort, load/unload, deliver and pick up all shipments in the most efficient, professional and cost productive manner, within the service area designated by the Company within prescribed quality levels of service to our customers and the general public.YOUR TASKS Wear required DHL uniform at all times when on dutyWithout delay, deliver and pick up all shipmentsEnsure that a high level of professional rapport is developed and maintained with all customersShipment Delivery is to meet Right Day Delivery (RDD) and pick up (PU) are moved as per Right Shuttle Uplift with no missed pickupElectronically record via a scanner (or manually, if required) all shipment process activitiesMeet special delivery or pickup expectationsProperly report and account for any cash received from customersMaintain proactive work processes to ensure teamwork, shuttle procedures and overall base performance is achievedProvide any potential sales lead to sales teamProvide quality feedback to sales about changes to shipment profiles or information on competitorsMeet the expectations of delivery and pick upCommunicate with dispatch/CS when customer needs change and use initiative and judgement to meet customer expectationsEnsure that the vehicle is clean and tidy at all times thereby portraying the image of a market leader and drive carefully and safely adhering to the traffic regulations of the country and ensuring safety of both self and others on the roadAbide by DHL Occupational Health & Safety policies, procedures and training at all timesEnsure forms of mechanical aid provided for manual handling (e.g. courier trolleys) are used to reduce the likelihood of manual handling injuriesReport any personal, vehicle or traffic incident/ damage to the Senior Courier or Operations Supervisor immediatelyDrive in a responsible, lawful and courteous mannerYOUR PROFILE Good communication skills with fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a distinct advantageMust hold a clean and valid UAE manual driver’s license with more than one year of driving experiencePhysical capacity to perform the inherent requirements of the role including moving, lifting, carrying, loading/unloading various shaped/weight objects regularlyExcellent personal presentation, grooming and hygieneReasonable knowledge of local areasAbility to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elementsExcellent organisational skills, including ability to prioritise workloadDemonstrated exceptional customer service experience and focusKnowledge of safe manual handling practices/OHS issuesProven ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, time sensitive environmentDemonstrated ability to use initiative/judgement to solve job related issues & attention to detailDemonstrated experience in following operational procedures
