Job Description: **Cost Estimation Engineer**
The Cost Estimation Engineer is responsible for the development of precise and competitive cost estimates for construction, infrastructure, mechanical, and electrical projects. This position requires the analysis of project drawings, specifications, and requisitions to ascertain the comprehensive cost of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. The incumbent will support tendering and budgeting procedures, and contribute to effective project planning and execution.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Review project documentation, including Bills of Quantities, drawings, and specifications, to formulate detailed cost estimates.
* Analyze project scope and decompose work into quantifiable elements to ensure estimation accuracy.
* Calculate material quantities, labor hours, and associated equipment expenses.
* Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
* Prepare and submit comprehensive cost estimation reports for both tender submissions and ongoing projects.
* Assist in value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies.
* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather relevant cost data.
* Monitor market trends in pricing for materials, labor, and equipment to inform estimation processes.
* Support post-tender negotiations and provide clarification on estimation assumptions.
* Maintain a cost database for future projects and benchmarking purposes.
