Job Summary:
The Cost Control Manager will oversee the cost control aspects of construction projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered within budget and in line with financial objectives. This position is responsible for managing project expenses, developing cost control procedures, coordinating with teams across different departments, and analyzing cost-related data to optimize project performance. The role requires extensive experience in project cost management, as well as a thorough understanding of construction processes, tender documents, and cost estimation techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement cost control procedures and systems to monitor and control project expenses.
  • Ensure that cost control measures are integrated into project plans, schedules, and project execution strategies.
  • Work closely with planning, estimation, production teams, and other project stakeholders to manage and optimize costs.
  • Coordinate with multiple suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best offers and maintain competitive pricing.
  • Actively participate in meetings with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and cost management.
  • Examine and review all project contract tender documents, including Bill of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, specifications, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Track and monitor project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses, to ensure they align with the project budget.
  • Regularly update the project pricing and cost forecasts to reflect any changes and maintain accurate cost records.
  • Analyze cost variances and identify potential areas of cost savings or overages.
  • Provide accurate and detailed cost estimates for different phases of the project, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
  • Identify cost drivers, trends, and potential risks that may affect project finances and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial regulations concerning cost control.

Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project cost control, with a proven track record in the contracting, construction, or industrial facilities industry.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong expertise in project cost management, cost control procedures, and cost estimation techniques.
    • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and subcontractor management.
    • Proficient in cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
    • Advanced proficiency in cost control software and financial tools.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing cost data and documentation.
    • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to cost control and construction practices.
