Job Description:**Option 1 (Focus on Duties):**

“We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to augment our finance department. The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid grasp of manufacturing costing methodologies, proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and advanced competency in Microsoft Excel. This position entails responsibility for the analysis of manufacturing expenditures, the generation of cost reports, and the maintenance of accurate cost accounting records.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Support the collection and compilation of data pertaining to manufacturing expenses, encompassing raw materials, direct labor, and overhead allocations.
* Ensure accurate entry of cost information into the accounting system.
* Contribute to the preparation of routine cost reports (e.g., monthly, quarterly).
* Assist in the upkeep of the cost accounting system under the direction of senior personnel.
* Contribute to the accurate allocation of costs to specific products and departments.
* Aid in the reconciliation of inventory accounts and the investigation of discrepancies, subject to supervisory oversight.
* Participate in physical inventory audits.
* Generate standard journal entries relevant to cost accounting procedures.
* Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules for financial statement reporting.
* Utilize the ERP system (SAP) to retrieve foundational cost data.
* Maintain data integrity within the ERP system environment.
* Adhere to established accounting protocols and internal control frameworks.
* Support adherence to prevailing accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
* Provide ancillary support to other members of the finance team as required.”

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing costing principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
