**Position Summary:**
We are seeking a highly qualified Contract Administrator to manage all facets of FIDIC-based contracts. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering or Law, complemented by substantial experience in contract administration within the civil engineering or construction sector. This role encompasses comprehensive contract review, negotiation, claims management, and overall contract administration throughout the project lifecycle. The incumbent will ensure contractual compliance, implement effective risk management strategies, and contribute to the successful execution of civil engineering projects.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Oversee the administration of FIDIC contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations by all parties throughout the project lifecycle.
* Review, draft, and negotiate contractual agreements, ensuring clarity, comprehensiveness, and compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain meticulous contract documentation, including design drawings, site instructions, variation orders, and progress records.
* Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms and facilitate conflict resolution.
* Provide clear and concise contractual guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
* Maintain transparent communication channels and provide regular reporting to ensure all relevant parties are informed of contractual matters and project status.
* Receive, review, and assess contractor claims, ensuring compliance with contract provisions and substantiating entitlement, cause, effect, and quantum.
* Conduct consultations to clarify claim details and pursue early resolution where feasible.
* Prepare impartial determinations, issue notices of determination, and ensure timely responses to claims in accordance with FIDIC procedures.
* Maintain comprehensive records to support claims and protect the company’s interests in potential disputes.
* Evaluate executed work, prepare interim and final payment certificates, and ensure fair valuations consistent with contract terms.
* Manage adjustments to contract sums arising from variations, claims, or changes in project scope.
* Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring compliance with FIDIC guidelines and project-specific requirements.
* Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory changes impacting contracts and advise management accordingly.
* Oversee contract close-out activities, including review and approval of final accounts, and issuance of completion and performance certificates.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
* Education: A degree in Civil Engineering or Law is preferred.
* Experience: Demonstrated experience in contract administration within the civil engineering or construction sector is essential, with significant experience in managing FIDIC contracts (Red, Yellow, or Silver Book).
* Proficiency in all aspects of FIDIC contract management, including contract review, negotiation, claims management, and dispute resolution.
* Exceptional analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
* Superior negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Fluency in English (both verbal and written); proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
* Familiarity with project management software and the MS Office Suite.
