**Position Summary:**
The Culinary Professional is responsible for the preparation and cooking of food items in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists. Key responsibilities include preparing specialized meals, regulating cooking equipment temperatures, managing food thawing processes, ensuring proper portioning and garnishing, maintaining food logs, and monitoring food quality and quantity. This individual will communicate assistance needs during peak periods, inform the Chef of excess food items for utilization in daily specials, and advise Food & Beverage service staff regarding menu specials and unavailable items. Strict adherence to food quality standards is paramount. Additional duties encompass the preparation of cold food items.
Furthermore, the Culinary Professional provides support to management in areas such as hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff, serving as a role model for all employees. The incumbent is expected to follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, promptly reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management. Completion of required safety training and certifications is mandatory. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, upholding the confidentiality of proprietary information, and safeguarding company assets are essential. The role also necessitates anticipating and addressing guest service needs and communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues. The Culinary Professional will foster positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns, ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Physical demands include extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking, as well as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance is required. Additional job duties may be assigned by Supervisors as needed.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* **Education:** Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
* **Related Work Experience:** Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a culinary role.
* **Supervisory Experience:** None.
* **License or Certification:** None required.
