Job Description:**Expression of Interest: BIM Manager – Major Infrastructure Project**
Surbana Jurong (SJ), a leading global consultancy specializing in urban, infrastructure, and managed services with a commitment to shaping cities and enhancing lives, invites Expressions of Interest for the position of BIM Manager. This pivotal role will support the successful implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes on a major infrastructure project.
The BIM Manager will report to the Lead BIM Manager and will be responsible for overseeing project-wide BIM operations. This includes supervising discipline-specific BIM teams, ensuring the quality and coordination of models, and maintaining compliance with ISO 19650 standards and the project’s BIM Execution Plan (BEP). The successful candidate will serve as a key technical lead for digital delivery, fostering collaboration and innovation across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Supervise and provide guidance to BIM Coordinators and modelers across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
* Manage federated BIM models, conduct clash detection analyses, and ensure accuracy in model coordination.
* Review discipline-specific models to ensure compliance with the project’s BEP and client BIM standards.
* Ensure that deliverables align with ISO 19650 standards and support the progression of Level of Development (LOD) from 100 to 500 throughout all project stages.
* Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checks on models and oversee interoperability, data integrity, and the quality of drawings.
* Utilize Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for design collaboration and coordination purposes.
* Support BIM automation and efficiency improvements through the application of tools such as Dynamo or Grasshopper.
* Lead BIM coordination meetings, internal workshops, and training sessions for multidisciplinary teams.
* Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical and coordination-related issues.
* Manage BIM documentation and deliverables, including the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP).
* Prepare BIM progress reports, dashboards, and visualization materials to support project communication.
**Key Qualifications and Experience:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
* A minimum of twelve (12) to sixteen (16) years of BIM experience, including at least six (6) years in a coordination or management capacity.
* Demonstrated experience in managing multidisciplinary BIM teams on large-scale projects.
* Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
* Comprehensive understanding of ISO 19650 standards, BIM workflows, and digital collaboration protocols.
* Experience in the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and the management of LOD development.
* Familiarity with GIS integration (ArcGIS, QGIS) and 4D/5D BIM workflows is preferred.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills, coupled with a collaborative approach.
**Key Knowledge and Skills:**
* In-depth technical knowledge of BIM coordination and model management across multiple disciplines.
* Proficiency in clash detection, data validation, and quality assurance procedures for digital deliverables.
* Experience with automation and parametric modeling utilizing Dynamo, Grasshopper, or other scripting tools.
* Competence in managing project information delivery (TIDP/MIDP) and generating progress reports.
* Ability to lead BIM workshops, mentor team members, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
* Experience in infrastructure, aviation, or complex building projects is preferred.
* Knowledge of visualization tools such as Enscape, Twinmotion, or 3ds Max is advantageous.
* Strong coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.
