Back-end Developer Internship

You’ll support backend development for core platforms: building APIs, working with databases, and helping keep services reliable and scalable. You’ll learn how we structure server-side systems supporting real scan-to-surgery workflows, and you’ll ship production code under mentorship following the same backend internship model in our internal template.
We strongly encourage the use of modern AI-assisted development workflows. Interns are expected to actively use AI tools and models (such as coding assistants, AI-powered debugging, documentation, testing, and productivity tools) to improve development speed, code quality, learning, and problem-solving efficiency.

Expected Skills

• RESTful APIs and JSON
• Relational databases and SQL (MySQL – PostgreSQL)
• Git / GitLab
• Familiarity with one backend track: Native PHP, NodeJS (Express), or Java
• AWS is a plus
• Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools and willingness to integrate AI into daily development workflows
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly for debugging, code generation, documentation, testing, and learning
