**Line of Service Overview**

The PwC Middle East Assurance practice comprises over 2,300 professionals based in 12 countries throughout the region and is an integral part of PwC’s global network. PwC Middle East’s Assurance practice combines human expertise with technology-driven solutions to furnish clients with superior audits and risk services. These offerings cultivate confidence and have a significant impact on our region and society as a whole.

**Responsibilities:**

As an External Audit Senior Associate, you will contribute to delivering exceptional service to our clients. Reporting to Managers and above, you will collaborate within a team to build client trust, resolve complex challenges, and proactively manage multiple engagements. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Analyzing client financial statements to ensure adherence to financial regulations.
* Examining financial and accounting records, documents, and tangible assets, such as inventory or plant and equipment.
* Engaging in formal written and informal oral inquiries with various individuals within client organizations.
* Evaluating the effectiveness of client organizations’ internal controls and processes.
* Establishing trust and credibility with clients through understanding their expectations and delivering high-quality services.
* Assuming responsibility for researching and comprehending key industry information prior to engagement commencement.
* Communicating proactively with the Manager and/or Partner regarding engagement progress, risks, issues, and variances from the plan in terms of time and budget.
* Assuming full ownership of external file completion.
* Analyzing engagement economics for self and field staff and explaining variances from budgets.
* Reviewing the work of Associate-level staff, providing on-the-job training, coaching, and constructive feedback to facilitate their professional development.
* Ensuring compliance with risk, quality, and independence protocols.
* Effectively engaging with diverse teams throughout all phases of the audit, from planning to completion, and diligently following up on requested tasks to meet deadlines and the firm’s internal KPIs.
* Participating in digital initiatives and upskilling programs aligned with the team’s business needs.
* Performing additional procedures as necessary to support the issuance of assurance deliverables.

**Qualifications:**

The ideal candidate will demonstrate ambition and a commitment to professional growth. Furthermore, the candidate will possess the following characteristics:

* A degree in accounting, finance, or a related academic discipline.
* Completion or active pursuit of a professional qualification, such as ACCA, CA, ACA, or CPA (preferred).
* Progressive experience at the Senior Associate level, working with a diverse portfolio of external audit clients within a Big 4 professional services firm.
* Experience working with a range of industries.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration within a team environment.
* Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English (oral and written) is a plus.
* Business development and client relationship building skills.
* Willingness to challenge conventional practices and foster a cohesive and effective working team.
* Excellent project management skills.
* Knowledge of audit technologies and experience using data analytics tools is a plus.
* Commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives.
* Thorough technical skills and experience regarding applicable accounting reporting and auditing standards, with demonstrated exceptional performance.
* Experience in designing engagement procedures based on risk and materiality.
* Previous experience in coaching and leading engagement teams.
* Strong technical knowledge and the ability to research issues, present alternatives, and formulate conclusions for clients/Managers.
