Job Description:**Option 1 (Formal and Concise):**
A leading construction firm in Egypt seeks a highly qualified and experienced **Director of Accounting** to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all accounting functions. The successful candidate will possess a proven ability to implement best practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver comprehensive financial reporting to stakeholders. Responsibilities include: directing the accounting department; managing general ledger activities; overseeing client, subcontractor, and supplier accounting; leading cost allocation and fixed asset accounting; coordinating with warehouse operations; developing and maintaining accounting policies and internal controls; ensuring compliance with IFRS and Egyptian regulations; preparing financial statements; driving process improvements; and mentoring accounting staff.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Possession of relevant professional accounting certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
- A minimum of 20 years of progressive accounting experience, with a significant portion in leadership roles, ideally within the construction industry.
- Extensive hands-on experience with SAP ERP, particularly within the FI (Financial Accounting), CO (Controlling) and MM (Material Management) modules, is essential. Demonstrated ability to leverage SAP for efficient accounting operations and reporting is critical.
- Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local Egyptian accounting regulations.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a large accounting team effectively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills in both English and Arabic (highly preferred).
- Strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to understand the broader organizational context.
