Execute comprehensive financial management functions, encompassing the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports; generation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders; administration of project-specific budgets, ensuring accurate billing practices for various contract types; monitoring of engineering project expenses in collaboration with project managers to maintain budgetary compliance; oversight of billing cycles, coordinating invoicing with clients and vendors; ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable; management of vendor invoices, client payments, and collections; reconciliation of accounts to ensure payment currency; ensuring compliance with tax laws, accounting regulations, and company policies; provision of required documentation and support for internal and external audits; coordination of tax filings and timely submission of tax returns; collaboration with project managers to forecast financials for prospective engineering projects; and monitoring operational cost-efficiency to identify potential savings opportunities.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification preferred but not required.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a consulting engineering or similar professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and project accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of construction or engineering industry financial processes is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments.
