Job Description:**Accountant – Finance Department, SARA Group**
SARA Group seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Department. This critical role is responsible for the accurate documentation of financial transactions, support of business operations, and maintenance of accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
**Responsibilities:**
*   Prepare and post journal entries, and analyze account information to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
*   Conduct financial analysis and generate comprehensive variance reports to support informed decision-making.
*   Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies.
*   Maintain and reconcile subsidiary accounts, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
*   Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts, ensuring accurate valuation, recording of stock movements, and alignment between financial and warehouse records.
*   Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations teams to oversee inventory control processes, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
*   Collaborate with other departments to ensure accounting practices align with business needs and organizational objectives.
*   Assist with month-end closing processes and corporate/regional allocations.
*   Provide support during audits by analyzing accounts and providing required documentation.
*   Develop and implement systems to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
*   Manage payroll processing, verify results, and generate detailed payroll reports.
*   Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
*   Ensure the timely and accurate booking of all accounting entries in accordance with applicable regulations.
*   Prepare and file tax-related reports, including VAT, ensuring compliance with local requirements.
*   Support internal controls and maintain compliance across the accounting function.
**Qualifications:**
*   Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance or Accounting required; CA, CPA, or ACCA qualification preferred.
*   Minimum of three (3) years of experience in inventory accounting, preferably within a trading or distribution business, with a strong understanding of stock reconciliations and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis.
*   Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
*   Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
*   Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely convey complex financial concepts.
*   Commercial and business awareness, with an understanding of distribution, logistics, and sales systems.
*   Proficiency in financial software (AX dynamic preferred) and advanced Excel skills required.
*   Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
*   Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
