Job Description:**Teacher – Science (Middle School)**

**Academic Year 2026-2027**

Muna British Academy, an Aldar Education school, invites applications for the position of Teacher – Science (Middle School), commencing in the academic year 2026-2027. Established in 2009, Muna British Academy has consistently maintained an “Outstanding” rating from ADEK since 2015, reflecting its commitment to educational excellence.

In August 2025, the Academy will relocate to a new, state-of-the-art campus within the Saadiyat Lagoons community. This relocation will facilitate the expansion of academic offerings, initially encompassing Foundation Stage 1 through Year 7, with future provision extending to Year 13. The new campus will provide exceptional facilities designed to foster academic achievement, creativity, and personal development, supporting the Academy’s mission to deliver outstanding education. **Responsibilities:**

* Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum to ensure effective implementation and alignment with learning outcomes.
* Employ appropriate syllabi, materials, and schemes of work to develop students’ skills in specific areas of science.
* Organize classroom provision and learning resources to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students within the classroom.
* Develop and implement effective lesson plans and sequences, addressing individual student learning needs.
* Establish a conducive learning environment that supports outstanding educational practices.
* Motivate students through engaging and creative lessons that challenge pupils and promote critical thinking.
* Identify clear teaching and learning objectives and monitor student achievement against these objectives.
* Reflect on classroom provision, instruction, and student progress, adapting the environment, planning, and curriculum accordingly.
* Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Gifted & Talented (G&T), ensuring their needs are met through differentiation.
* Facilitate Hybrid / Distance Learning / Face to Face lessons, as required.
* Monitor and evaluate student progress, utilizing data to inform instructional decisions and provide targeted support.
* Employ assessment data to inform future planning, provision, and interventions.
* Provide feedback to parents and guardians on student progress and development during Parent Teacher conferences and meetings (PTMs).
* Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to behaviour management, code of conduct, and child safeguarding.
* Manage classes effectively, employing approaches appropriate to students’ needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.
* Maintain positive relationships with students, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively within established school policies.
* Serve as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the values and behaviours expected of students.
* Maintain high expectations for student conduct, promoting self-control and independence among all learners.
* Ensure a safe and secure environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students.
* Fulfill assigned duties as directed, in accordance with school policies.
* Participate in curriculum action groups, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
* Assist in organizing and participating in school events, outings, and extra-curricular activities (ECAs), which may occur after school hours.
* Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student achievements and well-being, utilizing school systems and processes.
* Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
* Contribute to the school’s ECA Programme by leading at least one after-school activity per week throughout the academic year.
* Take initiative in pursuing professional development to enhance teaching quality and effectively execute roles and responsibilities.

**Qualifications:**

* A Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
* A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a similar role.
* Experience working in an international school is mandatory.
* Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language (EAL).
* Possess a professional, calm, and knowledgeable demeanor.
* Demonstrate the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Exhibit a passion for teaching and a commitment to the education and nurturing of children.
* Maintain a high level of professionalism and demonstrate concern for the well-being of children.
* Participate actively in extra-curricular activities.
* Maintain a positive and solution-focused approach to work.
* Demonstrate warmth, empathy, credibility, self-belief, integrity, drive, and child-centeredness.
* Possess the ability to prioritize workload and multitask effectively.
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with parents in a diverse, multicultural environment.
