Job Description:Aldar Education invites applications for the position of Teacher of English (Middle School) at Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing in the 2026–2027 academic year. Muna British Academy, established in 2009, has consistently achieved an “Outstanding” rating from ADEK since 2015. In August 2025, the academy relocated to a state-of-the-art campus in Saadiyat Lagoons, expanding its provision to encompass students from FS1 to Year 7, with plans for future expansion to Year 13. The new campus provides world-class facilities designed to promote academic excellence, creativity, and personal development. This expansion presents an opportunity for the academy community to grow within a premier educational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of Aldar Education as the secondary year groups expand. Alignment with the core values and ethos of the academy, as well as a demonstrated understanding and appreciation of the culture and values of the region, are essential.

**Responsibilities:**

* **Teaching and Learning:** Implement the curriculum effectively to achieve learning outcomes, utilizing appropriate resources and schemes of work to develop students’ skills. Organize the classroom and learning resources to cultivate a positive learning environment. Plan and deliver sessions that cater to the diverse needs of students within the class. Design lessons and sequences of lessons to meet individual learning needs. Foster a learning environment conducive to outstanding practice. Motivate students through engaging and creative lessons that challenge pupils and promote critical thinking. Identify clear teaching objectives and ensure student achievement. Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, and student progress, adapting the environment, planning, and curriculum accordingly. Support students with Special Educational Needs (POD), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Gifted & Talented (G&T) needs through differentiation. Facilitate Hybrid / Distance Learning / Face to Face lessons.
* **Assessment and Data:** Assume responsibility for student progress. Utilize data relating to prior attainment to set expectations/targets, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback. Meet assessment requirements and record student development using Target Tracker. Use assessment data to inform planning, provision, and interventions. Provide feedback to parents/carers on student progress at Parent Teacher conferences and meetings (PTMs).
* **Behavior Management and Duties:** Adhere to school policies and procedures, including behaviour management, code of conduct, and child safeguarding. Manage classes effectively, using appropriate approaches to inspire and challenge pupils. Maintain positive relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively within school policies. Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate expected attitudes, values, and behaviour. Maintain high expectations for conduct, promoting self-control and independence. Ensure a safe and secure environment that allows for social, emotional, and academic growth. Fulfill assigned duties within established school policies.
* **Wider Professional Responsibilities:** Participate in curriculum action groups to support planning, assessment, resources, and special events. Assist in organizing and participating in school events, outings, and extra-curricular activities (ECAs). Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student achievements and well-being. Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school. Lead at least one after-school ECA per week. Pursue professional development to ensure high-quality teaching and successful execution of responsibilities.

**Qualifications:**

* A Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
* A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role is required.
* Experience in an international school setting is mandatory.
* Experience working with English as an Additional Language (EAL) students is preferred.
* Candidates must be approachable, professional, calm, and knowledgeable.
* Candidates must be able to interact professionally with a range of stakeholders.
* Demonstrated passion for teaching and commitment to nurturing children is essential.
* A high level of professionalism and consideration for the well-being of children is required.
* Recent involvement in extra-curricular activities is preferred.
* Candidates must possess a positive and solution-focused attitude.
* Warmth, empathy, credibility, self-belief, integrity, drive and child centered.
* Ability to prioritize workload and multitask is essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with parents in a diverse multi-cultural environment are required.
