Job Description

Our client is seeking a candidate with at least ten years’ relevant experience. Experience from a professional services background would be preferable. In this role you will be responsible for managing all statutory activities and tax compliance for the Middle East as per local requirements and regulations.

Description:

  • Work with the wider Firm Tax team and local Tax LoS Specialists to understand tax laws and regulations in various jurisdictions within the Middle East and assess impact
  • Contribute to managing and mitigating tax risks
  • Ensure proper implementation and adherence of tax policies
  • Lead our clients tax optimisation and tax savings projects in coordination with the ME Firm Tax Leader and Senior Director of Finance and Business Operations
  • Escalate material risk or compliance issues to the Country Finance Leader and Firm Tax Leader
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and solve complex tax challenges
  • Manage the tax compliance and regulatory reporting and documentation for the ME Group including income tax, value added tax, withholding tax and other taxes)
  • Manage Tax Authority audits (all taxes) for the ME Group with relevant Country tax team and Firm tax team
  • Manage the monthly tax provision process for the ME Group, including oversight of tax balances and costs
  • Perform tax cost budget, cost tracking, monitoring, and controls in coordination with the central finance team
  • Prepare monthly tax reports including insight into KPIs, balances and costs across all taxes
  • Ensure intercompany cost allocations are in line with management agreements and transfer pricing policy
  • Provide guidance and support to the finance and pricing function regarding any ad hoc tax queries
  • Manage and sign off the monthly transactions and reports posted through management books for statutory reporting for all ME
  • Manage the revenue, disbursement and margins on cross border engagements on a regular basis
  • Manage and sign off statutory books for all ME statutory accounting systems
  • Review and sign off extended trial balance for all statutory entities for year end, including adjustments needed for correct statutory reporting and compliance
  • Coordinates directly with external reporting team for yearly reviews and ME accounting compliances
  • Lead initiatives related to our clients’ compliance, statutory, legal structure or contractual projects as required
  • Develop and maintain internal controls over statutory activities, processes and reporting
  • Stay up to date on KSA local content and ME ICV requirements
  • Manage the Local content and ICV score improvement initiatives, i.e., suggest initiatives to improve ME scores and coordinate with the team for implementation
  • Coordinate with the auditors, and our client (when applicable) for a timely and accurate audit review
  • Review data provided by the team for validation against the financial statements
  • Coordinate with Local Finance for clarification and sign off
  • Supervise and provide guidance to junior members of the team
  • Develop strong working relationships with all stakeholders across the ME group
  • Coordinate with our clients’ finance and pricing, SSC accounting, external reporting team, local KSA finance lead and ME Firm tax teams on all relevant accounting and compliance matters
  • Manage all system implementation projects for our client in regard to statutory and tax
