**POSITION OBJECTIVE**

The Shift Supervisor position is primarily operational and entails the oversight of team member activities during assigned shifts. This oversight is crucial to ensure adherence to established standards concerning personnel, product quality, cleanliness, and the delivery of an exceptional guest experience.

**Key Responsibilities**

**People Management:**

* Exhibits leadership by example, emphasizing the importance of treating all team members and guests with respect.
* Addresses emergent issues promptly and effectively.
* Provides team members with consistent, specific guidance and direction.
* Cultivates a positive and engaging work environment while motivating team members to achieve performance goals.
* Participates in the training, orientation, and monitoring of new team members.
* Reports on team member performance (positive or negative) to the Store Manager.
* Assists in maintaining optimal staffing levels at all times and performs various operational duties during peak periods to ensure service levels are maintained through proactive floor leadership.

**Hospitality Management:**

* Leads by example, demonstrating a commitment to prioritizing the guest experience, and reinforcing positive hospitality behaviors among team members.
* Interacts with guests in a courteous and responsive manner, while maintaining an appropriate sense of urgency.
* Addresses guest service complaints promptly and efficiently, resolving issues and transforming potentially negative experiences into positive ones.

**Operations Management:**

* Adheres to and enforces all Tim Hortons operating standards.
* Ensures that all products and packaging are properly merchandised and stocked.
* Maintains responsibility for shift cash handling procedures.
* Maintains operational efficiency through the effective implementation of work schedules.
* Supervises team members to ensure the completion of both primary and secondary duties.
* Ensures compliance with all store policies during the shift, including cash handling, meal and break provisions, and food safety regulations.
* Remains informed of all relevant information, including new product launches, promotions, and discount programs.
* Supports the Store Manager in driving sales and transactions during assigned shifts.
* Completes all required shift documentation, including records of waste, manager walk-through reports, and store checklists.
* Escalates any issues or problems to the appropriate superior.

**Health & Safety:**

* Demonstrates knowledge of, and adherence to, safe work practices and procedures.
* Utilizes personal protective equipment or clothing as required.
* Reports all injuries/illnesses, accidents, unsafe conditions, security incidents, and any contravention of health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures to the Store Manager or Area Manager.
* Refrains from operating any equipment, machine, device, or thing, or otherwise working in a manner that may endanger anyone.
* Ensures adherence to health and safety policies during the shift, including documentation and reporting of any work-related injuries or accidents.

**Cashiering:**

* Supervises and ensures that technical equipment in the stores are in working condition.
* Counts money in the cash till at the beginning of the shifts to ensure that amount is correct and there is adequate change.
* Receives payment by cash, credit cards, vouchers or automatic debits whenever required
* Issues receipts, refunds, or change to the customers correctly whenever required
* Maintains clean & orderly checkout areas
