This position requires a qualified individual to resolve complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open-source software solutions. The incumbent will maintain a collaborative working relationship with Canonical’s Field, Support, and Product Engineering teams.

**Responsibilities:**

* Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and collaborate with upstream communities for their inclusion.
* Review code produced by other engineers, ensuring adherence to established standards.
* Demonstrate sound judgment in the application of technical methodologies and techniques.
* Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in alignment with organizational priorities.
* Participate in team discussions aimed at enhancing processes, tools, and documentation.
* Maintain clear, technical, and concise communication.
* Work remotely and travel internationally up to 10% of the time for team meetings, events, and conferences.

**Required Qualifications:**

* An exceptional academic record in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
* Demonstrable experience with Linux and open-source software.
* Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages on Linux: Python, Go, C, or C++.
* A strong aptitude for learning new technologies and resolving complex issues.
* Willingness to travel up to four times per year for internal events.
