Overview

Provides technical guidance in Petroleum Engineering and expert advice in at least one key specialty in Petroleum Engineering. Demonstrates outstanding technical capability in areas of specialties, usually supported with a broad industry recognition, and confidence to Management and peers to analyze complex situations and recommend practical solutions. Develops less experienced PE professionals through formal/informal coaching, PE development programs and initiatives. Proposes improvements to technical workflows and organizational processes within Petroleum Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Provides technical support in all broad petroleum engineering aspects and expert advice in the areas of specialty to ensure optimum characterization and depletion of hydrocarbon assets in line with Company’s business objectives
Leads and formulates strategic data acquisition plans, analyzes acquired data and integrates with other data to assess future data acquisition requirements
Recommends, designs and oversees leading-edge studies outside the organization to resolve complex issues beyond standard engineering knowledge within the range of technical specialties. Leads and contributes to advanced studies and pilot projects for improvement of hydrocarbon asset characterization and depletion
Conducts analytical and numerical studies to ensure sound petroleum engineering strategies for optimum characterization and depletion of hydrocarbon assets
Participates in the technical review of projects and reviews proposals for new or changed practices in the area of expertise to ensure efficient and economic outcomes
Proposes technical and process improvements, develops a basis for required field testing
Analyzes results and recommends new or changed practices in the area of expertise
Conducts seminars, prepares BiC guidelines and standard manuals, trains and develops less experienced professionals in the areas of expertise. Provides guidance and oversight of BiC petroleum engineering tenets, practices and recommends state-of-the-art technologies
Participates in or chairs the Technical Review Committee of the PE Technical Development Program and assumes a mentoring role to TOP candidates. Participates in technical societies and technical groups in the area of expertise and represents the Company in industry committees or specialized groups as required.

Minimum Requirements

A successful candidate should have Bachelors Degree Engineering (Electrical EngChemical Eng, Mechanical Eng or Petroleum Engineering) and at least 20 years of experience.
