Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
- Create execution plans for projects, see them through to completion
- Oversee work of the design team
- Produce scheme design packages independently
- Oversee and manage outsourcing of work (visuals, drafting etc)
- Liaise with multiple sub consultants across various projects (MEP, lighting, AV/IT etc)
- Review MEP packages
- Create tender reports
- Undertake site inspections
- Complete project close out details, documentation and storage of records
- Resolve technical issues independently
- Assist with bid information and competitions
- Well versed with local regulations and international best practice standards. Keen understanding of building codes and inspection regulations, as well as universal accessibility standards
- Stay up to date with changing trends in the marketplace
Skills
Essential characteristics:
- 8+ years’ experience
- High level of professional integrity, taking ownership and responsibility of yours and team members work
- Works well under pressure and meets deadlines efficiently
- Background in architecture, environmental design or interior design
- Excellent communication, time management and multitasking skills
- Positive, solution oriented attitude
- An excellent portfolio of past design and creative projects
- Understands mechanical system and basic needs including, but not limited to; ductwork, thermostat locations, air returns and output grills and locations, baseboard heating, sprinkler needs types of heads, etc
- Understands Architectural and Structural needs such as beams, columns, bearing walls tying elements to structure, etc
- Has a good knowledge of product cost and availability to ensure they fit within set budgets and schedules and can apply that knowledge to projects
