The successful candidate will lead the launch of new products and technology platforms and focus on executing a robust sales strategy with the sales force. They will implement a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy for the Division, ensuring effective territory and budget allocation to drive business unit growth. Key responsibilities include developing impactful and coordinated initiatives to enhance engagement with key accounts, conducting market analysis to gather competitive intelligence on new products, strategies, and industry tactics, and identifying opportunities for business growth. The incumbent will also meet with key clients to support Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives in maintaining relationships and negotiating/closing deals, as well as collaborating with Key Account Managers and other divisions to drive sales.
**Experience and Qualifications:**
A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or Business Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and marketing, with 3-5 years in management/executive management roles, ideally within a multinational medical device company. A proven track record as a Commercial Director or Division Business Unit Leader, demonstrating career progression, is essential. Direct selling experience within the medical device field, including a thorough understanding of key opinion leaders and main products and competitors, is required. Significant experience in indirect channel/dealer management is highly desirable, as is experience managing managers.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong external presence, exhibiting high visibility and impact while embodying Stryker’s values to both customers and employees. They must demonstrate a proven ability to drive market share growth and meet financial commitments. Furthermore, the candidate should have a demonstrated history of successfully building, managing, motivating, and developing high-performing sales teams, including expertise in sales coverage planning and leveraging territory coverage and customer focus. The ability to build engagement and utilize performance management systems to achieve business objectives, including goal setting, performance planning and monitoring, coaching, feedback, and performance review, is critical.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a documented record of exceeding organizational goals (e.g., sales quota, growth quota, sales, P&L, engagement), is required. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, coupled with strong cross-functional influencing skills and teamwork abilities, are essential. Fluency in English and the ability to travel within and beyond the territory are mandatory.
