Job Description :

Role purposeTo ensure the region maximises commercial market opportunities through the effective deployment of learning and assessment products.To ensure consistency of standards in the delivery of new/existing and enhanced products and services.To provide the link between the market and the regional /global product and service strategy and curriculum, ensuring market relevance to regional/global products.To ensure successful deployment/embedding of new products and services to markets in the region.To work alongside the Global Product Team in defining opportunities and business cases, and to represent the voice of the customer in those opportunities and cases. Main accountabilities Manages the product portfolio across the region ensuring products/pilots are properly specified, designed and evaluated so they deliver maximum contribution to the British Council’s overall objectives and business targets.Manages the testing and roll out of new products/pilots and develops a feedback cycle to ensure a continuous improvement process for all products and services.Works with countries, the Global Product Teams, and regional marketing teams to drive innovation and commission new product design/development/enhancements to better meet segment and subsegment needs. Partners with country and regional marketing, sales and customer service leads to develop customer insight by undertaking targeted, bespoke research and analysis to identify current and future market trends across the region to support and inform the development of high quality, commercially viable products and services which meet external demandIn conjunction with Teaching Excellence colleagues where appropriate:Makes sure that latest thinking, innovation and best practices in pedagogy and assessment are incorporated in products and enhancementsDevelops trust-based relationships with a range of key practitioners, partners, organisations, and stakeholders to inform the development or enhancement of products and servicesUsing agreed corporate systems and processes, plans and manages the budgets allocated from the product development Stage Gate process/ Regional budgets for a discrete strand of the unit’s work, and for a number of medium- to large sized projects, programmes or pilotsSets and oversees the work plan for major products/services and pilots within the region, working with a range of internal and external stakeholders across the region to ensure high quality, timely delivery.  Time horizons are likely to be quarterly to annual  Knowledge and Experience EssentialExperience of successful product portfolio management and product development.End to end product management experience.Demonstrated experience working in an English Language learning management or assessment development role.Experience of working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across an organization to achieve objectives. DesirableExperience of working with English language learners and test takers in Region MEAExperience of successfully delivering an educational change programme across a geographically dispersed area i.e. across several centres in one country or several countries in a cluster or region Role specific skillsSubject Matter ExpertProduct Performance ManagementCommunicating and InfluencingAnalysing data and problemsExternal Market Environment

Any application for permanent residency in the host country shall be the responsibility of the employee.Annual Airfare: For Self onlySettling-In Allowance: It is a contribution only and is not intended to necessarily cover all the cost of the move. employees will receive the allowance as a one-off net payment with their first month’s salary in the host country. The allowance is 7% of the employee’s annual base salary if single and for accompanied 10% of base salary.
