Job Description

The Legal Advisor provides counsel in legal matters, responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Legal department, provision of legal advisory services and ensures effective management of any legal risks for the Hospital.

  1. Provides internal legal consultations/advice on legal matters related to the Hospital, to ensure that all activities are in line with the applicable laws of the country.
  2. Formulates advice and reviews all contract agreements between the Hospital and external parties to ensure that the Hospital’s interest is protected and ensure compliance with the laws.
  3. Participates in the process of contract negotiations, monitors the implementation of the legal clauses of the contracts and responsible for the legal form and content of all documents prepared and approved.
  4. Initiates legal procedures against other entities or people who may damage hospital’s rights and benefits, follow up their implementation & submits reports to the Hospital Management.
  5. Represents the hospital before all legal authorities – General Department of Criminal Identification – Forensic Medicine, in cases brought to court for or against the hospital, consults The General Investigation Department, the various Kuwaiti courts, Attorney General, in relation to the legal actions taken for the hospital or against it.
  6. Assists the Human Resource Department in drafting, revising employment contracts to facilitate the recruitment / separation of employees and to ensure its conformity to Kuwait Labor Laws.
  7. Assists in the preparation of legal reports and advices on a wide range of hospital related issues like investigations and penalties against employees. Submits analytical reports, findings and conclusions to prevent future incidents in the hospital.
  8. Liaises and follows up with the external legal office on behalf of the hospital for cases brought up by and against the hospital.
  9. Follows up the legal license procedures of the Hospital, services and expansion projects and ensures compliance with the country law.
  10. Guides the employees on behalf of the Hospital for any legal issues and accompanies them for various hearing and appearing session in court and other legal offices.
  11. Corresponds and obtains the resolution, circulars & documents related to the work of the Hospital from MOH, Ministry of Justice, Municipality, Governmental Properties, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Social Affairs & labor, Compensation Public Authority , Investment Public Authority, Industry & Commerce Chamber, Embassies etc.
  12. Keeps a record of all the necessary legal documents of the hospital and ensures that the records are maintained as required by law and present it whenever required by authorized persons.
  13. Keeps and controls the files of the Executive Management Personnel.
  14. Takes assignments and gives reports to CEO as and when necessary.
  15. Continual review of all the laws, regulations & resolutions issued by concerned official parties for the hospital, revie w and explain them to the hospital Management.
  16. Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
  17. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Reporting Authority.
  18. Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.

  20. Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
