Overview / Responsibilities

Due to anticipated growth throughout 2022, Wood is currently inviting expressions of interest for Lead Instrument & Control Engineer with experience in refining and offshore industry to be based in UAE

Below are some key responsibilities and duties:

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Engineering Manager / Project manager, manages succession planning for direct reports
  • Instrument and controls system design responsibility
  • Definition of plant overall controls architecture
  • Ownership of I&C schedule and planning
  • Responsible for production and / or review of deliverables including models, drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, evaluations etc
  • Management and leadership of a medium size team
  • Working closely with the design team to achieve successful model review outcomes
  • Liaise with other disciplines, clients and vendor representatives
  • Experience of working with multi – national and multi – cultural project teams is strongly preferred

Skills / Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline ( I&C OR EC)
  • At least 15 Years plus experience with instrumentation in the Oil & Gas environment
  • Experience FED, Detail design and EPC projects
  • Fully coherent in all international codes and standards
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English is required
  • Assurance of tender and supply for all I&C equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G and SCADA systems generally incorporated in major Brownfield oil / gas offshore projects
  • Participation with contribution during P&IDs, HAZOP, and SIL reviews workshopReview and where required approval of work by others
