Job Description
Job Summary:
- As a Laboratory Technician in a perfume factory, you will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests and procedures to ensure the quality and consistency of perfume products. You will work closely with the Perfumers and Quality Control team to analyze raw materials and finished products, maintain lab equipment, and contribute to the production process.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Conduct quality control tests to ensure compliance with industry standards, product specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Receipt of raw materials and finished product
- Examination and analysis of raw materials and products in general
- Evaluate fragrance samples for scent, stability, color, viscosity, and other relevant parameters.
- Document and analyze test results, and prepare accurate and detailed reports.
- Sample Preparation and Formulation
- Mix fragrance oils, essential oils, and other ingredients accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of the formulation process, including ingredient quantities and lot numbers.
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration.
- Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, including glassware, analytical instruments, and sensory evaluation tools.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing and repairs as needed.
- Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and reagents.
- Place orders for replenishment promptly, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Follow proper storage and disposal procedures for hazardous materials and waste.
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols, including the handling and storing of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory procedures, test results, and safety records.
- Using appropriate laboratory techniques and equipment, perform chemical and physical tests on raw materials, fragrance compounds, and finished perfume products.
- To ensure the improvement of the environment and organization
- Any task assigned to him by the administrative director
Skills
Education and Competency:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A diploma or certification in Perfumery or Fragrance Science is a plus.
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the fragrance, cosmetics, or related industries.
- Knowledge of perfume formulation, fragrance evaluation, and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques used in fragrance analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and formulas.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Professional computer skills and experience with laboratory software and data analysis tools.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a laboratory environment.
