Main Job Purpose
The main purpose of this position is to perform independent inspection and verification of mechanical system safety, in line with ENRRA’s Integrated Management System.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in developing regulations, guides and procedures related to his/ her area of expertise.
- Conduct inspection on mechanical system safety at the various stages in the radiation facility life cycle, including the reliability analyses of mechanical systems and the ageing and maintenance management of such systems during operation.
- Participate in verifying the Safety Analysis Report (SAR) and submitted documents through inspection by checking that parts related to mechanical systems reasonably demonstrate the safety of the radiation facilities.
- Participate in assessment of the authorized party’s procedures for the manufacture, assembly and operation of safety-related mechanical systems.
- Conduct inspections of the radiation facility and other activities related to mechanical systems.
- Maintain a systematic recording of inspection, in line with the Integrated Management System.
- Participate as appropriate in inspection of procedures for the commissioning and testing of safety related systems.
- Participate in identifying and evaluation of e the safety impact of findings detected during assessments and inspections, and issue relevant reports.
- Collaborate in the investigation of events with a safety impact, assess and follow up on proposals to modify or change components with significant impact on mechanical systems safety, or modify related documentation.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the Head of Department/ Head of Sector.
Skills
Education
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience/ Knowledge
- Relevant experience up to 4 years in Mechanical systems using related calculation tools;
- Experience in Radiation Facilities Installations is preferable
- Awareness of international standards of piping, pressure vessel, and mechanical equipment and components;
- Awareness of IAEA Safety Standards is preferable;
Computer Skills
- Professional computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Languages
- Excellent command of English language (oral and written).
Training/ Certificates
- Practical training / certificates in the field is preferable;
