Job Description

To support the company to develop, implement and monitor Occupational Health and Safety Policies, Programs, and Procedures as well as ensure safe workplaces with no accidents and injuries.

System Development and Maintenance

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Sustain a safe work environment, supervision, coaching, managing processes, process improvement, and effective closure of non-conformances.
  • Work on applying accurate Occupational Health and Safety reporting tools
  • Ensure annual revision of the holistic system requirements and seek opportunities for improvement

Firefighting and Fire Alarm Systems:

  • Oversee FF system (Fire Extinguishers, Hose Reels, Fire alarm control panel, Break Glass, Siren and Pumps) checkups from team and contractor.

Operations Licenses:

  • Responsible to follow up on all legal requirements related to getting operation licenses and system certificates (ISO…); Lebanese regulatory & governmental bodies, Environmental Authorities and Civil Defense for Plants and WHs.
  • Ensure factory Safety and Security programs are implemented.
  • Promote “Safety” awareness and compliance to rules and regulations by all related personnel to provide a conducive environment at the work place for enhancement of work performance.
  • Ensure emergency Evacuation Routes are clearly posted and that emergency evacuation procedures are well defined and known to all affiliate employees.
  • Evaluate skills of firefighting rescue teams and ensure that fire drills are carried out as scheduled.
  • Follow up on all approvals issued by pertinent governmental bodies as well inspections of equipment (such as and pressurized vessels) to ensure they promptly completed within deadlines or unnecessary shutdowns.

Inspections and Audits Reporting:

  • Collaborate with HSE Manager to arrange for Occupational Health and Safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants as may be necessary, within the Integrated management system framework.
  • Report to the HSE Manager on all the findings related to the audits done on all related departments in proper and agreed reports as directed.
  • Make sure all departments comply with HSE Standards within the IMS framework.
  • Aid the HSE manager is creating related documents related to day-to-day Occupational Health and Safety Policies, Programs, and Procedure’s implementation and problems.

Near Misses, Incidents, Unsafe Behaviors/act and Unsafe Conditions:

  • Report NMs for unsafe conditions/Actions
  • Follow up NM Closure with responsible department.
  • Follow up with all department to properly report on all incidents to HSE team and HR.
  • Investigate probably in incident and find proper and safe action plan.

Contractors Management

  • Follow up the implementation of system standards related to Contractor Management System; permits, PPEs, Working at Heights.

Safety Teams

Following IMS guidelines, aid the HSE Manager with all functions to establish and train safety teams as below:

1- Food Safety Team

2- Evacuation teams

3- First Aid Teams

4- Crisis Management Team

5- Any team related to safety

Training

  • To increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization.
  • Aid the HSE manager in establishing training materials and conducting training covering all Safety aspects for shopfloor teams.
  • Ensure any new employee to be trained on Safety aspects related to his area before starting the duty.  

Risk Assessment:

  • Coordinate with all related departments to establish Risk Assessment system for production lines.
  • Make sure that RA system is updated and reviewed on a yearly base or if needed.
  • Make sure to close all points related to high risks (red and yellow) and update RA.

HSE Targets:

  • Comply to the HSE targets and departmental KPIs set by the HSE manager.
