Job Responsibilities:Develop, shape, and lead a portfolio of student careers and employability activities, including internship and placement provision, that are designed to ensure BUE students receive a high quality and consistent experience. Develop, consult on, and deliver an Employability and Careers strategy that supports both BUE’s strategic objectives, and institutional goal of delivering a transformational British style Higher Education experience. Improve the percentage of BUE graduates achieving graduate level employment within 12 months of graduating in line with BUEs agreed strategic priorities. Design and implement an Employer Engagement function to improve activities that will directly benefit student employability and careers, this should include: – Collaborating and building relationships with new and existing employers, as well as identifying opportunities for BUE students and graduates – Understanding the recruitment and selection process applied by prospective employers – Working in partnership with BUE’s existing Enterprise functions to explore opportunitiesWork collaboratively to capture existing best practice related to employability and careers within the university and help identify ways that BUE can effectively share these examples across the institution. Work closely with colleagues within faculties, and wider student services, to ensure collaboration and leverage of existing BUE employability and careers services and ensure appropriate overlap with the Student Hub.Develop, consult on and implement an institutional Early Careers Platform that serves in reaching out to students, graduates and employers and matches the students’ and graduates’ skills and qualifications with employers’ requirements.Organize and deliver bespoke student workshops, guidance, seminars and talks on a range of employability and career services, subjects, and areas of development, to include 1-2-1 sessions, interview and presentation practice, CV writing skills, etc. Work with students to identify their needs and requirements in relation to building and developing their skills Conduct an in-depth SWOT analysis of BUEs current internship and placement provision, with a view to update and review the relevant policies and procedures to ensure the academic quality and integrity of internships, as well as their ability to enrich the student experience.Initiate and build partnerships with employers, and partner institutions, to develop student opportunities for internships locally and nationally, while facilitating student learning by assisting students to secure appropriate internships.Working in partnership with relevant staff from across the university, help to support strategies for alumni relations where necessary, potentially including communications, events and activities, overseas alumni groups, benefits, etc.Lead on the organization, promotion, and facilitation of a BUE careers fair.Promote employability and careers services, including producing and updating material for publication on the BUE Student Hub webpages, as well as print media as necessary.To undertake other duties and responsibilities as reasonably required by the Director of Student Services as and when necessary.

Job Requirements:Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree at 2.1 level (or equivalent)Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Masters/PhD)Relevant Professional Membership (e.g. International Association of Career Advisors (IACA) (desirable)Experience:Minimum of five years relevant post qualification experience in delivering successful employability and careers functions within a competitive HE environmentExperience supporting students with bespoke one-to-one advice, as well as specialist student support in an HE environmentExperience in the delivery of high standards of customer service within an employer facing or service delivery environmentExperience of developing effective internal and external networks to enhance outcomes and foster collaborative practices, as well as collaborative working within a professional services environment.Technical Skills:In-depth understanding of the educational environment and the current graduate recruitment markets both within Egypt and the wider MENA region.
