**Purpose of Position:**

BAE Systems, as the UK Government’s designated Prime Contractor under government-to-government agreements, provides equipment, support, and training to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The company is responsible for the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and the safe training of RSAF personnel in the operation of their aircraft, equipment, and weaponry. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is dedicated to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, encompassing Saudisation, the training and development of Saudi National capabilities through the augmentation of Saudi National Partner Companies, and the reinforcement of Industrialization and Partnerships. The Fire Chief / Safety Advisor is accountable to the RSAF-HQ Director of Safety / Fire Protection for the establishment, management, and sustainment of RSAF requirements pertaining to Safety and Fire Protection, including, but not limited to, management, training, quality assurance, logistics, supply chain, maintenance, engineering, facilities management, and resource allocation activities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating with Safety Wing and Fire Squadron Commanders on all matters related to airworthiness fire safety, ensuring that appropriate recommendations and remedial actions are provided to the RSAF. Furthermore, the position entails directing, planning, and coordinating fire operations, training programs, maintenance schedules, engineering projects, logistical support, and contractual matters arising within the Fire Squadron, as required. Impartial advice will be provided within maintenance and engineering disciplines in support of the RSAF’s strategic mission.

**Essential Requirements:**

* Serve as the primary point of contact for all issues concerning RSAF Fire Protection and Safety Programs, assuming responsibility for overseeing and directing the management and execution of major, high-value programs to meet RSAF requirements.
* Ensure comprehensive program definition to guarantee RSAF requirements are met in accordance with RSAF Policies and Procedures, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes and Standards, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulations, and the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Curricula.
* Serve as the principal point of contact for RSAF-HQ, MODSAP, USMTM, and private companies regarding programs, proposals, negotiations, and their implementation, ensuring all relevant information is reported to the RSAF-HQ Director of Safety/Fire Protection.
* Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of aviation and structural fire protection management activities.
* Possess a thorough understanding of fire protection concepts of maintainability using international references, along with comprehensive knowledge of fire service maintenance and engineering practices.
* Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams in resolving complex problems across a wide spectrum of aviation fire protection activities, employing a systematic approach to problem-solving.
* Develop, maintain, and manage key relationships with RSAF Base Safety Wings, Fire Squadrons, the Fire Training Centre, and HQ Directorates to facilitate the effective development and delivery of agreed-upon objectives.
* Establish, develop, implement, and continually review organizational and management structures to ensure the effective delivery of fire protection, underpinned by effective communication processes.
* Coordinate the review and progress of technical submissions and Statements of Work for Fire Protection and Safety Projects within the RSAF requirements.
* Conduct analyses of the effectiveness of fire protection and safety programs, providing recommendations on policies for maintaining Fire and Safety Squadrons, and ensuring policies are implemented, controlled, and maintained to approved standards.
* Exhibit strategic thinking capabilities, effectively communicate a strategy/vision, lead a team towards goals and objectives, and provide in-depth specialist advice to support RSAF strategic decision-making.
