Job Summary:
This position is responsible for managing and directing the operations of the FABLAB providing the facilities and technical services to support teaching, research and academic exploration of materials, design and fabrication for the students, faculty and staff of the School of DM. Fab-lab Technician experienced in fab labs/ maker spaces or similar organizations within the maker culture is highly desirable. He will be in charge of explaining how the Laboratory works, help students and all TKH community with the use of machines, supervise and maintain all machine operations and tool-kits workshop, and managing the Lab inventory stock. Communicate with the different programs to develop training tracks and curricula for the neighborhoods attracting the different segments of the community with the intention of building networks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Helping students and staff to use tools and machine.
- Technical support on students & research projects.
- Design and facilitate activities and workshops, when appropriate, and to contract and supervise external partners/suppliers when necessary.
- Monitoring safety and appropriate machine use.
- Management of booking system for students organization.
- Basic setup, maintenance & upgrade of the lab and its machines.
- Keep track FABLAB Finance and monitoring of supplies, materials storage and Inventory of Digital Manufacturing Consumables.
- Material research and performance
Skills
Qualifications:
- Professional in managing and operating FABLABS
- Years of Experience: 3-5 years
- Education: Mechanical engineering or Architecture with fabrication experience

Technical Competencies:
- Expertise in software and Digital Fabrication tools (Autocad – Rhinoceros 3D, CAD/CAM Software, Laser Cutter, Milling Machine, 3D printers, etc.).
- Previous experience in managing students
- Craftsmanship Experience and Knowledge.
- Woodwork Experience and Knowledge.
- Autonomous, able to take on responsibilities and coordinate with the Design team efficiently.
