The Role

The Butcher is responsible to cut and trim meat according to company specifications, efficiently operate department equipment, and merchandise products according to company policies and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities as a Butcher –

Prepare and process various cuts of meat according to customer requirements and industry standardsIn the absence of the Meat Department Manager, order products in an accurate, timely mannerMonitor inventory levels and place orders for fresh meat supplies.Know and follow the procedures for rotating, merchandising, and displaying productsMaintain a full variety of products at all timesImplement the department’s product wastage policy when necessaryPrepare customer special orders in an accurate, efficient, willing, sincere, friendly mannerAssist in all areas of the meat department as deemed necessary by the Meat Department ManagerMaintain a clean working environment and adhere to food safety and hygiene standardStay updated with relevant regulations and comply with them.

Key Requirements for this Butcher position –
You must have experience as a Butcher or have meat cutting experience.Ideally you would have worked in a Supermarket setting but other independent Butchers or department stores will be consider.Ability to work in cold environments.Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts.Knowledge of food safetyStrong communication and customer service skills.Must have a motorbike or driving license
