Job Description
-Ensures the availability and accuracy of medical equipment and surgical instruments inventory.
-Performs repairs, testing and calibrations to most diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment and maintains associated records as per pre-designed plan.
-Plans for all related activities which at least should cover inspection, testing and maintenance prior the start of each year.
– Provides preventive maintenance to medical equipment in safe, self-directed and timely manner as per manufacturer’s instructions written in equipment’s manual.
- Monitors the radiation safety (including laser) and applies the
- policy and all needed measures.
– Submits monthly indicators reports to the biomedical engineering manager.
-Acts as preceptors to physicians, nurses and technical staff concerning operation of medical equipment on a formal and informal basis, including technical support during surgeries and medical procedures.
– Participates actively in the facility’s designed education program.
-Solves problems utilizing analytical processes, which may involve multiple contacts with internal and external resources.
– Prepares documentation and maintain records pertaining to all repairs, replaced parts, calibrations and modifications of medical equipment.
-Gathers and provides first response information on medical equipment related issues involved in patient occurrence reports.
– Identifies aging and obsolete patient care equipment to higher managers.
– Provides supporting documentation for the assessment, justification and selection of new’ equipment.
– Interacts with vendors, contractors and suppliers.
-Complies with medical equipment management plan and policies.
-Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
– Conducts and maintains duties, personal appearance, interactions with fellow employees, staff and customer in a professional manner.
-Uses the unassigned time to increase knowledge on technology and procedures.
– Performs other duties as directed/required.
Skills
_Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
-Bachelor degree in biomedical engineering or equivalent.
-Minimum 5 years’ experience in the biomedical.
-Strong communications and organizational skills.
-Must have good attention to details.
