- Duties & responsibilities:
- Administrative
Participates in the development of nursing policies in collaboration with Nursing Administration & CQI-PS departmentParticipates in formulating, implementing & evaluating policies for nursing quality improvement & encourage staff to complyCommunicates concerns affecting quality improvement & patient safety to the Director of NursingIdentifies present & potential areas for improvement to enable the Nursing Department to meet the acceptable standards and MSD requirementsParticipates in Nursing Administration activities as requiredServes as a member on selected committees as required by the organizationAttends interdepartmental meetings to support the requirementsPromptly attend to, & investigate incidents which might affect Patient Safety & Quality Improvement and follow up on actions that are requiredProvides a monthly report to Nursing Administration on all Nursing Quality projects including audits, education & trainingCollaborates with data analysis staff to facilitate design and development of appropriate tools & reportsClinicalDemonstrate effective communication & collaboration skills when interacting with healthcare workersEnsures patient care activities are within established hospital policies & procedures, standards, & protocolsLiaises with head nurses for the development & implementation of clinical auditsEducation & ResearchAssists with the Nursing Department in providing education & training on Quality Improvement & Patient Safety activitiesAttends to all hospital required annual certifications & re-certification programsAssumes responsibility for own professional growthQualityWorks with all healthcare team members in activities designed for improvement of quality in nursingDevelops, implements & participates in all quality improvement activities in collaboration with Director of Nursing & CQI-PSParticipates in developing, monitoring & evaluating Key Performance Indicators for Nursing in collaboration with CQI-PSInitiate & participates in Clinical Audit as agreed by Director of Nursing & CQI-PSComplies with hospital Infection Control & environmental safetyProfessionalismServes as a professional role model and resource personMaintains own registration from country of origin and Saudi CouncilDevelops & utilizes professional collegial networkingDemonstrates respect, compassion & cultural sensitivity to all health care workers & patientsAssumes responsibility for own decisions & actionsMaintain confidentiality at all timesDemonstrates initiative in performance of duties
Skills
- Professional experience:
- Minimum three (3) years work experience as direct patient care provider
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Charge nurse or Head nurse
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a quality improvement nurse
- Sound knowledge of Quality Improvement in hospitals
- Experience of Word Processing, database/Spreadsheet eg. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Specialized knowledge:
- Hospital Quality Improvement & Management certificate
- Personal qualities/skills:
- English & Arabic
- Computer skills required
- Ability to work efficiently even under pressure.
